Scott Mankoff began photographing the Dallas and Deep Ellum local music and art scenes in 2007, capturing dynamic live performances, art exhibits, and community events. His documentation of the neighborhood's vibrant culture earned him a dedicated solo photographic show at the legendary Kettle Art Gallery in 2008. The massive exhibition featured more than 2,500 of his images covering the gallery walls and hanging from the ceiling, highlighting his deep roots in the North Texas creative community. 

The Kettle Art book For The Love is by author and award winning photographer Jason Hensel. It documents 20 years of Kettle Art Gallery. A contribution by Scott Mankoff, along with his photographs, appears on pages 100 to 103. Additional pictures he took appear throughout the book, and his bio appears on page 246. About the Author

Scott L. Mankoff is dedicated to exploring the frontiers of knowledge and The Forever Unknown. Through his storytelling, he invites readers to journey into what is known, unknown, and unknowable to consider ideas that further humankind. When he isn't writing his next novel, Scott is a multi-faceted artist and musician who has written over 50 songs registered with the Library of Congress and hundreds of articles as a photojournalist for multiple magazines. Scott Mankoff’s lifelong passion for music began early. This retro video captures him at age 17 in 1987, singing lead vocals while playing bass during his high school's Project Graduation at the Four Seasons Hotel in Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey. Scott played in two different bands on this same night, both on bass. He continued playing in bands during college and later in Dallas and Deep Ellum. Scott still plays many instruments today.
